Hi Everyone welcome to Day 2 of my Body Shape series!
Today I am talking about the Strawberry Shape also known as Apple or Inverted Triangle.
If you are Strawberry Shaped you have a strong upper body, broad shoulders, large bust, slender hips and thighs, and great legs!
It’s all about creating balance, softening the upper body while adding slight volume to the lower body. So how do we do this?
Tops can be scoop neck or V-neck creating a clean silhouette and minimising the bust area. Fabrics should be silky and feminine to create softness on a strong upper body as opposed to tailored structured pieces.
Strawberry Shapes tend to carry weight around their middle so straight-lined jackets to the hip are your best friend! Scarves left to hang vertically are great detractors!
Wrap dresses and tops create lovely feminine silhouettes.
If carrying a little weight empire lines work best as the waist is fitted from under the bust giving definition.
When it comes to the lower half the biggest mistake people make is wearing skinnies as this exaggerates your upper body and makes your lower body even thinner.
If you love your skinnies wear them with long jackets and cardigans as you have great shoulders to carry this look. Trousers should be straight not wide and skirts can be straight too. If you like a fuller skirt the waist needs to be highlighted for definition. So try to keep top half simple and use colour and print to draw the eye to the lower body.
You have great legs so show them off in great shoes, dresses and skirts.
Wow bracelets, rings and earrings are great on you. Keep the neck area clear.
I’ve chosen Catherine Zeta-Jones who really knows how to dress her strawberry body shape in great classy but basic pieces.
