Hi Everyone,
I thought it was important that I do a post on Body Shape. Actually, I am going to do 5 over the coming week giving you key tips on how to make the most of your Body Shape.
Why? Because wearing the right clothes for your shape makes a world of difference to your appearance.
We all come in different shapes and dressing for your Shape first and foremost, will make you taller, slimmer, curvier and more confident. Just think about an outfit you love to wear lots…it’s because it does that for you.
Today I have chosen the “Pear “ one that so many struggle with because they are 2 sizes!
If you are a Pear you have a slender upper body, slopey shoulders, small bust, petite waist, wide hips and a voluptuous bottom.
Pears can wear most tops. Tops with embellishment bring the eye to the upper body such as:
Structured shoulders and capped sleeves all broaden the shoulders out, balancing with the hips. Resist wearing long tops as they hide your small waist and leave you shapeless! (the most common mistake pears make).
I highlight this issue at my Fashion Events and people are so amazed at the instant difference.
Dresses are a bit of a struggle as you are one size on top and another on the bottom.
My advice is to wear waisted dresses. These are fitted on top and full on the bottom. So flattering on a pear shape as they highlight the waist. Go for full or A-line skirts that fall flatteringly around the body.
When it comes to tailored trousers go straight and high waisted adding belts to highlight waist and heels for height.
Jeans. Mid-rise are best, dark denim is slimming and bootcut balances out the hips. If you like your Skinnies pay attention to your tops and footwear.
Go for fancy footwear as this draws the eye down i.e. colourful or print flats.
Jewellery. Go for statement pieces on the neck as again this draws the eye up.
These are just a few suggestions which I hope you try out.
I chose Michelle Obama who is a pear and is super confident in her own skin and knows how best to flatter her shape albeit she has her own stylist…
